Well hello there! It’s definitely been a few days since the conference concluded, but I immediately had to get back to the daily grind =[.
BUUUUTTT I’ve found the time to jump back in to blogging and tell everyone how AWESOME the WJMC ended up being. I had such a great time and met so many cool people;it was an amazing opportunity.
There were so many powerful people that we got to come in contact with! Excuse me for being a name dropper, but I met Brian Lamb, CEO of C-Span, Chuck Todd, NBC Whit House Correspondent, Josef Sawyer, producer of Spike Tv’s Pros vs. Jo’s, America’s Most Wanted, and Howard University professor, KevinMcCarthy, Film Critic, and Helen Thomas, the first female White House correspondent, just to name a few.
It was also great to see all of the great media programs that GMU offers. I was able to film a mock interview with their state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment (which you can watch below!)
Also, we were able to check out some awesome museums. It sounds boring, but the Newseum was actually pretty interesting. There were multiple floors of fun-ness and some really great exhibits. i’ve snagged a few pictures below!
let me see…the other students were equally as wonderful as i am =] (jk) but there were definitely some people that I instantly clicked with…I’ll share a few pictures of those lovely ones also haha. But Our group was lead by Lauren Millette, she is a journalism teacher and was by far the best advisor next to Dean Flagel.
We named our group Team Awesome! b/c that’s the only way we could be a humble team…I mean, naming ourselves “Team Rulers of the Universe” sounds a little precocious don’t you think? ;] there are a few pictures of us above!!
Well, I am totally pooped out now (;] Grace? lol) and must be off to bed!
ttyl, keep it kosher my dear dill pickles! smooches!
